Electric vehicle manufacturer Volta Trucks has hired Mornie Robertson as Chief Human Resources Officer.

The appointment came as the company increased its recruiting of technical commercial and in-market product experts.

Robertson has experience with automotive start-ups and has held global and European leadership positions in HR at Tesla. She has also worked in HR functions at Porsche GB and BMW UK and is currently on the executive board that founded INEOS Automotive.

Essa Al-Saleh, CEO of Volta Trucks, was delighted to welcome Mornie to the Executive Management Team. He said the company is in a period of rapid growth as it accelerates plans to bring the “world’s first purpose-built all-electric utility vehicle” to market as soon as possible.

He said, “We are attracting some exceptionally talented people to Volta Trucks and building a team of world-class experts in a nimble and agile corporate culture.”

He added, “We have significant tailwinds which are reflected in a very strong backlog based on Volta Trucks’ unique design and intellectual property addressing issues of sustainability and systemic health and safety in urban transport. With upcoming legislation driving the transition from ICE to zero-emission fleets and customer demand, we will continue to build the team to meet our ambitious goals. “
