Two teams were penalized during the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pre-qualification inspection on the Nashville Superspeedway in front of Rackley Roofing 200 on Friday night (8 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR radio).

Tanner Gray’s No. 15 DGR-Crosley Ford and Todd Gilliland’s No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford failed on sections 20.4.2a; 20.4.b; 20: 4: 1b; 20.20.a (body part did not meet NASCAR rule specifications) of the NASCAR rulebook.

As a result, both crew chiefs have been banned – Seth Smith for team # 15 (Jacob Hampton will fill in) and Chris Lawson for entry # 38 (Gilliland’s father David will take over). Gray and Gilliland will also fall back to the bottom of the field in the series’s first race on the 1.33 mile route since 2011.

In addition to the immediate race successes, both teams lost 25 owner and driver points each for 2021. Gilliland already has a victory in hand, while Gray is battling it out for points to reach the 10-driver playoffs.
