Evacuation orders were lifted for all but one building in Kelowna as crews dismantled the remains of a crane that collapsed, killing five people.

Residents and businesses can return at six addresses, according to a statement from Central Okanagan Emergency Operations.

Civil engineers and utility inspectors are said to have completed infrastructure and safety inspections, but property owners are encouraged to conduct their own checks to ensure customers and residents are safe when they return.

The statement said that another building directly across from the construction site the crane fell on continues to be evacuated as health and safety issues are resolved.

The BC Coroners Service, RCMP, and WorkSafeBC, the provincial safety agency for workers, are investigating these deaths.
