Clint Seyer, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Manager of the Crane Division (NSWC Crane) for the Expeditionary Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Division, was recently awarded the Department of the Navy (DON) (CSCM) Civil Service Award for significant contributions to excellent the United States (US) Navy. Seyer was recognized for significant effort during his 18-year career with the NSWC Crane Division. He developed short and long term strategies that led to recognition of national leadership in the Electronic Warfare (EW) mission area.

Seyer’s letter of recommendation states: “… Your commitment and your oversight for the Expeditionary EW mission is reflected in every aspect of your leadership and engagement …”

CSCM recognizes achievement that is well above an individual’s expectations and above the level of excellence reflected in a performance assessment. The achievement is equivalent to the Medal of Commendation of the Navy and Marine Corps.

Seyer began his career at Crane in 2003 as a quality / safety focus, providing quality systems and safety support to the electro-optics / chemistry and biosensors department. He was elected chief strategist for the Spectrum Warfare division in 2013. In this position, he was responsible for the division’s strategic planning efforts, where he successfully worked on developing short- and long-term strategies that led to national leadership in the EW mission field. In 2018, Mr. Seyer was selected as department head for the Expeditionary EW Systems Division, where he is responsible for the management and supervision of a division team that supports multiple Expeditionary EW Systems and direct execution of the workload of multiple ACAT II programs (Acquisition Category ) with an impact on the US supports the Navy, US Marines and US Special Forces around the globe.

As chief strategist, Mr. Seyer positioned NSWC Crane as the lead EW systems company in the Department of Defense and worked directly with the director of the Spectrum Warfare Systems Division to create strategic plans that would enable the strategic intent of our command to be successfully implemented. As Head of Department, Mr. Seyer’s dedication and oversight to the Expeditionary EW Mission is reflected in all aspects of his leadership and commitment, establishing an effective and innovative approach that retains and develops talent to support NSWC Crane’s and EW Mission Advancing DoD.
