BUFFALO, NY, April 5, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Downtime due to unexpected maintenance is expensive. To address this problem, Columbus McKinnon Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCO), a leading developer and manufacturer of intelligent motion solutions for material handling, introduces Intelli-Connect ™ Diagnostics and Analytics, the latest solution from the Automation Division. With Intelli-Connect, crane and hoist users can access detailed system information on their tablet or smartphone via the Intelli-Connect Mobile App. With the diagnostic information available, customers can troubleshoot problems faster, reducing the average time to recovery, planning maintenance, and ultimately extending uptime.
“This new remote diagnosis and analysis solution provides vital status information from a Magnetek frequency converter on a crane or hoist to the Intelli-Connect Mobile App and provides insight into the use of devices to ensure proper and timely maintenance,” said Peter Stipan, Global Director of the Automation Division of Columbus McKinnon. “With direct access to information on a tablet or smartphone, operators no longer have to climb onto the drive, turn off the device and plug in the hardware to access status information, thus avoiding potentially dangerous situations.”
By integrating this technology into an overhead crane or hoist, users can quickly and easily program, monitor, and troubleshoot devices. Intelli-Connect also enables them to proactively monitor and schedule maintenance to ensure that the required parts and support are available when needed. If a system fails unexpectedly, Intelli-Connect reduces the average recovery time (MTTR) by providing key operational details such as signal monitors, device status, and power consumption to help determine where the problem occurred.
The Intelli-Connect Mobile App is equipped with features that allow users to easily set up their system, adjust parameters and save backup sets, log events for errors and alarms, and access technical support for troubleshooting directly from their mobile device. The mobile app can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play or the Apple® App Store®.
An updated version of the app, Intelli-Connect Mobile +, offers advanced diagnostic and analysis functions including trending data, event logging and visibility of the remaining lifespan of the hoist. With this additional information, users can easily coordinate maintenance plans to keep downtime costs to a minimum. The Intelli-Connect Mobile + upgrade will be available in summer 2021.
Intelli-Connect can be easily integrated into cranes, electric wire rope hoists or chain hoists, including select Columbus McKinnon models using MagnetMP brands IMPULSE® • G + / VG + Series 4 or IMPULSE® • G + mini frequency converters.
