PB’S Italian Ices
What began as a hobby has grown into a successful business for the entrepreneur Minnie McPhatter. The former teacher officially started her food truck PB’s Italian Ices in 2016 and has been serving delicious Italian ice creams ever since. Cherry, mango, cotton candy, grape, lemon and pina colada are just some of the flavored ice cream flavors that are available in the food truck. Although she started her business with the frozen treat, McPhatter has now expanded its range to include hot dogs and sausage dogs. PB’s Italian Ices drives around town at festivals, schools, and parks, but most days you can find McPhatter and her truck in the UPHC parking lot on US Hwy. 70 east in James City.

Sea & soul
Fish lover, this truck is for you. Owner Patrick Chadwick serves a variety of fresh, juicy, seasoned fish, prawns and even a flavorful crab boil. Although the food truck has a knack for preparing the fresh catch of the day, it also serves steak and chicken wings with a taste of your choice, paired with a little soulful kale or grilled street corn, seasoned with lemon pepper of your choice or Sea & Soul’s own dry seasoning mix . Fries and Mac & Cheese are also available. Chef Pat will soon be expanding to open a full service restaurant at 1244 US 70 East in James City. He had planned to open the new business last year, but like many other companies, COVID-19 slowed its progress. However, the Sea & Soul Food Truck will still be available at a location near you even after it opens. Chadwick hopes to have the restaurant open by the end of July.
