MONTCLAIR, NJ – A crane erecting the new parking deck in Midtown has to lower its boom to the ground and block the pavement due to an ugly weather forecast, Montclair officials said Friday.
Montclair City officials released the following notice at 3 p.m.:
“The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Northeast New Jersey and Southeast New York. Due to the possibility of an impending tropical storm / hurricane hitting land in our area over the weekend, Glenridge Avenue will become between North Willow Street and Bloomfield Avenue with immediate effect. “
Montclair officials continued:
“To protect the residents and the surrounding buildings, the crane that is erecting the new Midtown parking deck has to lower its boom to the ground and block the roadway. The crane’s boom is lowered directly in front of the former Crosby building. and it will be completely barricaded. “
Residents can get to Glenridge Avenue via North Willow Street or Bloomfield Avenue, officials found.
