Glasgow-based Monarch Transport has strengthened its fleet with a new Scania G450 XT crane truck, which was the first to go into service for the logistics business.

The new truck, customized and supplied by MV Commercial, has been fitted with a HIAB X-HiPro 658 crane and is used across the company’s various operations including event equipment delivery, construction site work and general transportation.

John Weir, General Manager of Monarch Transport, said, “We have been fortunate to grow our business over the past two years. The demand in the construction industry has increased and events are starting to rise again. For this reason we have decided to add our first crane truck to the fleet. This was an important decision for us and MV Commercial provided us with the exact vehicle we wanted and provided valuable support throughout the business process.

“We have had several vehicles from MV Commercial and all of the previous assets we received from MV Commercial have performed extremely well. The relationship we have with the team and the service we receive are second to none. It was therefore a logical decision for us to return to them for this assignment. “

MV Commercial supplied Monarch Transport with the truck from its ready-to-go fleet – a range of specialty vehicles designed to anticipate upcoming market trends and provide operators with high quality equipment in a short period of time.

Steven Cairns, Managing Director of MV Commercial, says, “We are delighted to be supporting Monarch Transport in delivering its first specialty crane truck. The demand for construction-based assets has peaked as the industry bounced back from the challenges of 2020. “

On the go, Monarch Transport can also take advantage of MV Commercial’s nationwide support network with more than 20 approved workshops in the UK and Ireland.

Monarch Transport was founded in 1989 and provides bespoke logistics services across the UK and Europe, from one-off pallets to multinational contracts. The fleet is accredited according to the bronze standard of the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS). This gives its customers the confidence that they are achieving exemplary best practices in terms of safety, efficiency and environmental protection, including the management of their work-related road risk.
