We couldn’t be more proud of the way this case was handled by our staff and how contact was minimized and disinfection was carried out. ”IN OTHER NEWS: A second exposure was on August 25th at 4:30 pm at the IOR Petroleum in Gundagai, although public health has indicated that there is minimal risk at this stop as drivers pay contactless at the unmanned gas station. The MLHD has confirmed that drivers are now isolating themselves outside of the district. The Public Health Department will be in contact with anyone who has visited this venue to assess the risk to staff and to determine if anyone has had close contact with the case. SMS messages are sent to people who have checked in with the QR code. Former Wagga Mayor Greg Conkey said the news of exposure was “disappointing,” but not surprising, and anyone with the mildest symptoms in town should get on for the test as soon as possible. Two drivers who crossed the region on Wednesday 25 August tested positive for Covid-19, with a location in Wagga considered to be close contact.
