MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut is back to business this weekend with a Mother’s Day spin.
Botticello Farms in Manchester hosted a Mother’s Day event with people picking flowers and vegetables to celebrate local mothers. And other local small businesses could join in the fun.
“It’s kind of like the opening weekend for Mother’s Day, we have a couple of food trucks here … Nora’s cupcakes and Square Peg Pizza … of course all of them buy their flowers for Mother’s Day, you know?” It’s very busy today, ”said owner Tony Botticello. “Mother’s Day is usually the biggest flower day of the year, you know? And then we add the food trucks and a couple of other things and it’s twice as busy as last year.
Botticello said the farm is trying to book food trucks for every Saturday for the foreseeable future.
