The 12th annual Marsh Madness Sandhill Crane Festival in Linton is practically on February 27th and 28th.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources’ fish and wildlife division is working with Greene County’s Friends of Goose Pond fishing and wildlife sanctuary to host the community-based bird watching festival that celebrates crane and waterfowl migration at the FWA in town becomes outskirts.
For security reasons, this year’s events will take place virtually. The program includes bird watching tips from the property manager and assistant property manager, a presentation of the birds of prey, information from the International Crane Foundation, and Facebook live sessions from local bird watching experts.
On-site Goose Pond FWA visitors can also take a self-guided bike tour of the property or stop at the Goose Pond FWA Visitor Center to learn more about FWA attractions.
Goose Pond FWA is located at 13540 W. County Road 400 South. Further information on the event can be found at friendsofgoosepond.org/marsh-madness.
