An Argentine private equity partnership acquired a 280,900-square-foot manufacturing facility in Salem for $ 12.7 million.
The property is located at 6450 Technology Drive and is leased to the Mack Trucks Inc. division of the AB Volvo Group. Mack Trucks employs 250 people at the Roanoke Valley Operations facility in Salem, where a new line of medium-duty trucks is being manufactured. The plant is located approximately 75 km from sister company Volvo Trucks North America’s North American plant, which manufactures heavy trucks.
The seller was a Virginia-based individual investor. A spokesman for real estate investment brokerage firm Stan Johnson Co. declined to provide any further information about buyers and sellers.
