A loading crane tipped over on a busy street in Sydney, Australia this morning.

The crane, a rear-mounted HMF, was lifting some sort of large staging panel when it overturned and the boom came down on overhead lines or communication lines, a parked car, and a trailer. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

The Sydney Fire Department photos indicate that the booms on the load side are either not extended or empty – and there is evidence of recent road excavation – or that they were fully retracted when the crane tipped over.

It looks like the salvage crew managed to fold the boom while the truck was still on its side.
