On May 15, 2020, ENTREC Corporation, the parent company of Capstan Hauling and ENTREC Alberta Ltd., applied for protection under Canada Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). ENTREC was looking for buyers or investors for its businesses through a restructuring process that was monitored by court. As a result, the LAPRAIRIE Group of Companies acquired certain assets from ENTREC Alberta Ltd. together with the operational company name Capstan Hauling – with the aim of continuing operations and improving their services and reach in both areas Fort McMurray and Great prairie.
Neither ENTREC Alberta Ltd. Capstan Hauling had operational disruptions during the CCAA or acquisition process.
