Liptak

One of the co-founders of ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. and a pioneer in the crane rental category has passed away. Jerome “Jake” Liptak was 83 years old. Jake co-founded the company in 1964 with brothers Mike and Larry and Mike’s wife Marvine.

Jake Liptak is considered a hardworking man who loved his work in the field, even after ALL became a leading construction brand across North America. He stayed active in the company until a few years ago when he withdrew from his daily work to focus more on his health. He spent Wednesday January 27th with his family by his side.

As Jake’s death spread, Jake’s nephew and current ALL CEO and President Michael L. Liptak said he was blown away by stories of his uncle’s generosity. “It seems like everyone has a Jake story,” Liptak said. “He was the kind of guy that got his back, and we find out how many times he came to someone’s help without seeking attention and without expecting anything in return. He had friends everywhere and will be missed by so many people. “

Another nephew, Lawrence M. Liptak, corporate controller for ALL, recalls that Jake is critical to maintaining the family atmosphere as the company grows. “Jake never met a stranger,” he said. “He was available, knew everyone’s name and always had time to listen. That went a long way towards creating the kind of culture we’re even allowed to have here right now. “

When ALL was founded, most contractors had to buy and maintain their own cranes. Jake Liptak and his brothers saw a customer need and in a moment, entrepreneurial geniuses bought and rented their own crane.

Jake and his brothers had created a new category – crane rental – and backed it up with hard work, reliable products, and great customer service. In doing so, they laid the foundation for a company that would stand the test of time.

“You worked 100 hour weeks to get this company up and running,” said Michael L. Liptak. “I’m still amazed at what they built.”

From humble beginnings, Jake and his brothers pioneered the business, literally building the company from a crane to the collective it is today. The ALL Family of Companies is now the largest private crane rental and distribution company in North America with 33 offices, 1,500 employees and more than 3,500 pieces of equipment in its fleet.

“The brothers and my mother all complemented each other,” said Michael L. Liptak. “In those early days, everyone was instrumental in starting the company we know today. Without Jake, ALL Crane as we know it would not exist. “
