CARGOTEC CORPORATION, PRESS RELEASE FEBRUARY 24, 2021 AT 10:00 AM

Hiab, part of Cargotec, will supply MV Commercial in the UK with 100 HiConnect ™ equipped HIAB loader cranes for light, medium and heavy reach. The deal is valued at over EUR 5.7 million including the installation of 60 cranes and was booked in the 1st quarter of 2021.

MV Commercial offers sales and leasing for commercial vehicles and has developed into one of the largest national suppliers of special loading cranes. Founded in 2001, the company was named Independent UK Dealer of the Year 2020 last year.

Steven Cairns MV Commercial Managing Director: “This deal is proof of the excellent collaboration with the Hiab team. MV Commercial has one of the best fleets of ready-made specialty crane units in the UK with an annual supply of specialty vehicles in hundreds of units. Therefore, it is vital to our business model that we maintain high levels of high quality equipment to meet our customer needs. This deal will expand our industry-leading position and add quality equipment to our fleet to meet our customers’ needs.

“By partnering with Hiab, we can offer our customers first class, premium equipment that we can all rely on, and the service support packages give our customers all over the UK added security.”

Ian Mitchell, Director, Sales & Services, UK and Ireland: “Working closely with MV Commercial to develop a strategic partnership was instrumental in our UK growth plans. I anticipate interest in truck cranes in the rental sector will be greater as businesses recover from the effects of COVID-19 and Brexit. We are therefore proud to partner with one of the UK’s leading leasing companies to give businesses more choice. “

Currently 60% of the cranes are installed at Hiab’s own installation sites in the UK. MV Commercial and its customers can obtain service throughout the life cycle of their equipment through Hiab’s extensive service network in the UK and Ireland.

“This is a significant deal for Hiab that will create an ongoing pipeline of parts, service and repairs for us for up to ten years,” added Ian Mitchell.

HiConnect ™ increases the productivity of Hiab customers’ businesses through connected Hiab devices.
