Another Metro charity is responding to the call to help the victims of Hurricane Ida in Louisiana.

Five Feed the Children’s articulated lorries left at 8 a.m. on Friday morning, transporting essential supplies such as food, detergents and bottled water to the hardest-hit cities.

At times like this, Feed the Children officials said working with their Louisiana partners is critical to determining residents’ needs.

Trucks departing on Friday will also provide face masks, laundry detergents, and disaster kits for children with toys and a coloring book to help with advice.

“These will not be resources or raw materials that will expire too long,” said Feed the Children’s Disaster Services director John Ricketts in her spare time. ”

Feed the Children said they have certain places that they want to help. They are planning stops in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Houma.

These trucks are expected to arrive by noon on Friday.
