A crane operator died in an incident last Wednesday in the small town of Franklin, Virginia – just west of Norfolk. We have little to no specifics about what happened, but we do know that the incident took place at the Franklin paper mill, owned by International Paper.

According to the local emergency teams, the incident involved a large crane and the operator had to be cleared of the rubble. Virginia OSHA is investigating the incident with local police.

A company spokesman said the incident occurred around 9:00 pm on Wednesday evening and that “the company is incredibly saddened by this news.”
