The Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ annual crane safety conference opens tomorrow in London.
This year’s speakers include Carl Sarens, the engineer who developed the 5,000 ton crane that has just started its first use at Hinkley Point nuclear power plant in Somerset, UK, and Francois Swanepoel, who is the lead at Bylor, the Joint Venture, takes on the management of this huge project.
Other speakers include David Gostick, Specialist Inspector at Health & Safety Executive, Jennifer Gilmour – Senior Mechanical Engineer, Assurance Directorate, Dounreay, Edward Carr – Head of Lifting Solutions at Select Plant Hire, John Carpenter – HSQE Manager at VolkerFitzpatrick and Stijn Sarens from Sarens -Group to name a few.
