Crane work for the Armond Theater will temporarily close 10th Avenue South

10th Avenue South will be closed for most of the day on Sunday, August 15 to accommodate a crane

Anyone walking or driving through downtown Cranbrook on Sunday, August 15, must avoid part of 10th Avenue South while crane work is underway at the Armond Theater.

10th Ave. S. between Baker Street and 1st Street South will be completely closed on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accommodate a crane, the city of Cranbrook said.

The crane will lift load-bearing girders onto the roof of the Armond Theater as part of the ongoing renovation.

“We ask the population to avoid the area for the duration of the road closure and while the crane is in operation,” said the city. “Avoiding the area will help ensure public safety and the safety of construction crews.”
