Crane Industry Services (CIS) announced that it will offer open enrollment training including written and hands-on exams for NCCCO certification as a mobile crane operator. In a recent press release, the CIS stated that it has the authority to assist mobile crane operators by conducting practical exams on NCCCO telescopic boom and lattice boom truck cranes.

“We strive to offer our customers choice when it comes to employee qualification and certification,” said Debbie Dickinson, CEO of CIS. “In addition to these new classes, CIS offers training for riggers and signalers, written and practical tests for NCCER Basic Riggers and Advanced Riggers, and courses on the safety of crane sites, elevator managers and safety managers.”

The program includes:

  • CIS study manual
  • Interactive classroom exercises
  • Practical practice time on CM-Lab simulators

Practical exam of the NCCCO mobile crane operator

The practical tests of the NCCCO mobile crane operator analyze the skills of a crane operator in operating the machine.

The certifications are available for the following three crane types:

  • Lattice jib cranes (for both LBC and LBT)
  • Telescopic boom cranes – Swing Cab (TLL)
  • Telescopic Boom Cranes – Fixed Cab (TSS)
