A Dutton man died when a crane fell on him during assembly on Friday, July 9th

KENT COUNTY, MI – A 64-year-old man died after a crane that was being assembled fell over and hit him in Cascade Township.
Kent County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 3600 block of Sysco Court SE because of the accident.
Police identified the victim as David Heintz from Dutton.
Heintz was briefly trapped under the crane before his colleagues managed to free him. They tried first aid.
Rescue workers who arrived at the scene also tried to resuscitate him, but could not.
Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials were called to the scene to investigate.
