Régie du Terminal à Conteneurs (RTC), a terminal operator in Cameroon, has ordered two eco-efficient Konecranes Gottwald Model 6 mobile harbor cranes to improve their overall container handling capacity. The order was posted in the first quarter of 2021.
In anticipation of an increase in the volume of cargo in the port of Douala, RTC decided to expand the fleet of mobile harbor cranes at its terminal. They ordered two Konecranes Gottwald Model 6 cranes because this equipment will give them more handling capacity and help them take their terminal, which handles most of Cameroon’s port traffic, to a new level of efficiency. The cranes will arrive in early August 2021.
“We play such an important role in the local economy and we need to maintain high quality services for Cameroonian and international customers,” says Faustin Dingana, General Manager of RTC Douala. “With our two new Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbor cranes, we can continue to meet increasing customer demand in the future.”
“RTC already operates a fleet of Konecranes forklifts and mobile harbor cranes. The fact that they have selected us again shows how the performance of our cranes is helping them achieve their productivity and growth goals, ”says Andreas Czwalinna, Regional Sales Manager at Konecranes Port Solutions.
The two new cranes are Konecranes Gottwald Model 6 mobile harbor cranes in the G HMK 6507 variant. With a maximum radius of 51 m, they can service container ships up to the Post-Panamax class. A wide range of intelligent crane functions combined with a maximum load capacity of 125 t offer great flexibility in handling all types of cargo, including general cargo and even heavy project cargo.
