Australian rental company Borger Cranes has acquired Kelly Green Crane Hire and is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Kelly Green Crane Hire, based in Kunda Park on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, was founded in 1976 with the purchase of a small mobile crane by directors Peter Green and Laurie Kelly to help manufacture steel. The two have expanded the crane business over the years and now operate a fleet that includes 10 ton city cranes, truck cranes, pick & carry cranes, rough terrain and all-terrains up to 100 tons. The two initiated the sale as part of their retirement provision. The acquisition brings the Borger fleet to 96 cranes, including all terrains with capacities from three to 750 tons and up to 600 tons of crawler cranes.

The company said, “As a team, we look forward to the continued growth of our business and welcome the opportunity to work with our current customers in new states and territories.”

Borger Cranes employs around 300 people from its base in Sydney and three other locations in New South Wales, Newcastle, Central Coast and Hunter Valley.
