In February, the Crane Trust started its virtual crane tours.
“It was a successful opportunity for anyone interested in cranes, migration, and the Platte River to sign up as members to safely follow the migration and for the Crane Trust to offer guided tours,” said Bailey Across the US and in other countries, log in every day to watch sandhill cranes migrate in 2021. The feedback on the new tours was excellent. “
The nature and visitor center was reopened on May 1st.
“We’re excited to see visitors and volunteers back to normal,” said Bailey.
And welcoming the returning visitors is the bison. “At this point we have 14 bison in the pasture east of the visitor center, four of which are calves.”
There are also 16 km of hiking trails around the property. The center and the hiking trails are open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Bailey said a number of activities are planned with the center reopening.
